Astro (Octavio Cavieres, Nicolás Arancibia, Daniel Varas and Andrés Nusser) is an indie electro-pop group from Chile that stands out not only for its fresh sound and artistic sensibilities, but also for its bold, energetic and highly interpretative live show. After conquering Chile, the rest of Latin America, and Spain, they began touring the United States, appearing at SXSW 2012 and making a big impression. Their single “Panda” was featured on EASports’ FIFA 2013 soundtrack, and they received a number of outstanding reviews in the New York Times, NPR All Songs Considered, and KCRW, to name but a few. Additionally, NPR named the record one of the top 50 releases of 2012, which prompted a quick return for more United States touring. In the summer of 2013, Astro appeared at the Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York, NY, where they received the Artist Discovery Award for best new artist. That summer, after a month of touring the US, they played on Lollapalooza’s main stage with The Cure, Grizzly Bear, and Tegan and Sara. Astro has it all. With a defining sound, solid musicianship, and outstanding artistic sensibilities, their proven crossover potential will undoubtedly continue to define itself as they focus their future efforts on conquering the worldwide music scene.
